RECEIVING AN INTERVIEW CALL
• How will you speak to the interviewer?
— The critical element in responding correctly to an invitation for a job interview is that, right from this very first phone call, you put yourself in the driver's seat. Your goal must be to turn this simple conversation-and the whole interviewing experience-into a great opportunity to make yourself memorable and present yourself as someone a cut above the other candidates being considered for the advertised position. You should know, when you receive a call, how you are going to respond, paying attention to the tone of voice you use when talking to a potential employer.
• How will you ask for an extension of your interview date?
— Often, when firms call to request an interview, they are in a hurry to hire and want to schedule the initial meeting as soon as possible. Your first step in guiding the interview in the direction you desire is to buy yourself some time. Use a socially acceptable excuse to delay the interview date for just a few days to give you an opportunity to prepare. Most reasonable people, who have to juggle their own schedules from day to day, will accept your request and readily negotiate an alternative time for your interview.
• What if they say no, they can't reschedule?
— Do not give excuses for rescheduling the interview. If at all needed be transparent with the interviewer and convey to him genuinely the reason for rescheduling. Your non-preparedness for an interview can not be a reasonable excuse for rescheduling the same
• Research – (Company and Profile)
— This impresses your potential employer and puts you a step ahead of others. Employers look for those who show an interest and an understanding of their business. It may assist you to become knowledgeable about the company to which you are applying. Researching the company meets two needs. First, it allows you to evaluate whether or not you want to work there. A company often sounds promising but after researching it you might find out that it is not a good fit for your interests and professional goals. The interview process is your chance to sell yourself. Knowing as much about the company as possible shows that you are interested in the position and working for the company.
• SWOT Analysis
— Interviewers normally ask you to highlight your positive and negative traits. Positives, of course, can be emphasized more easily but even the negative traits can be presented in a positive light.
— You should be able to identify and articulate your interests, transferable skills and abilities, key accomplishments, and personal and professional strengths and weaknesses. Think carefully about what you want to impart at the interview and how you will do so.
• Resume Building
1. Look over your résumé and a copy of the cover letter that you sent to this employer. You should be able to expand upon every point and to answer any question about the information in the documents, especially those areas which might be of concern to the employer.
2. Writing a resume takes time and effort if it is to win the approval of hiring managers.
3. Common sense would tell any person in the job search process that writing an excellent resume is essential.

• Arranging Documents –
— Put together in advance a copy of your Resume/The Application Form and the original Interview Letter along with all your Testimonials. Organize them in such a manner that any paper can be presented to the interviewer(s) quickly as per demand.
• Grooming
— Dress for success - you will be judged by your appearance. As a general rule, you should dress one stage up from what the position itself would require or suggest. For most office-type positions, both males and females should wear formal business attire. Men should keep a smart suit, shirt, tie and a pair of shoes for the day. Ladies have to choose their dress more carefully, taking into account the type of organization, its culture and the product line etc. A neat business suit or an Indian dress can be chosen. Also, make sure that your clothing is clean and that you are well-groomed with natural-looking make-up and hair.

• Relax
— After you are prepared you are confident enough to face the interview, hence avoid being stressed instead relax. Watch a movie or listen to music.
